TERMINOLOGY
EXPLAINED...
PORCELAIN
Porcelain pavers and tiles are fired at higher
temperatures, resulting in a very low water absorption
rate. This characteristic makes them exceptionally durable
and resistant to wear. Their frost resistance also makes
them ideal for outdoor applications. Porcelain tiles can be
used for both wall and floor installations.
CERAMIC
Ceramic tiles are made from various clays and then fired
at high temperatures. They are generally better suited to
indoor projects and are often smaller format and mainly
used on wall applications.
NATURAL STONE
A natural stone floor provides a hard-wearing, easy
to clean and maintain, durable floor covering. Made
from natural material, they have an authentic array
of shades and tones.

This means that, although the edges of the tiles are still
cut straight, the surface of the edges have been made
to look rustic and textured. Ideal for period properties
or for projects requiring a country or rustic feel.

Calacatta Alfresco
Rectified tiles have been manufactured to a very
precise tolerance. This means they are cut to a exact
measurements with a near perfect straight edge.
Non-rectified tiles are pressed into a mould and
therefore have a slightly curved edge. Due to this,
more grout is visible between the tiles, offering
a more obvious break between each tile.
